Medicare BlueSM Private is a Medicare Advantage Private Fee-for-Service plan. It is a non-network program in which members may use any doctors, specialists or hospitals that accept the Medicare BlueSM Private terms conditions and payment rate.
Before providing services to a Medicare BlueSM Private member, providers must agree to the Terms and Conditions of Plan Payment. When you choose to extend services to a Medicare BlueSM Private Member, you are acknowledging the agreement and are "deemed" to have a contract with BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina.
Providers who are aware they are treating a Medicare BlueSM member and decline to accept the Terms and Conditions of the Plan Payment must do so if the services are extended in an urgent or emergency basis.
