You need to have a certain level of security installed on your computer in order to access our secure, online features, such as My Insurance Manager, My Business Manager and BlueQuote.

When you are in a secure area of our site, you will see a little lock in the bottom right corner of your browser window. The lock means that this area is protected behind a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) with 128-bit encryption. We use SSL encryption technology for your protection. The industry standard, it's among the safest software available today for secure transactions. It encrypts all the personal information you send and receive so someone else can't read it as it travels over the Internet. If you have ever given your credit card over the Web, chances are you've used the same technology.

Some browsers are set up to alert you when you enter a secure area. Even if you don't get an alert, our secure areas are still safe for your confidential information. Now, if you try and access one of these areas and you get an error message that the "Page cannot be displayed," you may not have 128-bit encryption on your computer. Here's how to check:

If you have Internet Explorer:

• Open your Internet Explorer browser.
• Click Help from the top tool bar.
• Click About Internet Explorer from the menu.
• Another window will pop up. Look at the line called Cipher Strength. The cipher strength needs to read 128-bit. If the number is less than 128-bit, you will need to download a more current version of Internet Explorer.

If you have Netscape:

• Open your Netscape browser.
• Click Help from the top tool bar.
• Click About Netscape from the menu.
• Another window will pop up with a version number. If you have a version of Netscape that's less than Netscape 6.2, you will need to download a more current version of Netscape.
